Katalin Falvai - (Ungheria)
Was born in 29th of July 1976 in Budapest. She starts her piano education
at the age of 7. As a child she won several national competition. At the age
of 9 she won admission to the Departament for Specially Talented Children
at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music.
From 1994 she continued her studies there in he class of György Nádor,
and received her master degree in 2002. She also studied with such teachers
as Ferenc Rados, Márta Gulyás, Kálmán Dráfi,
and worked regulary with Zoltán Kocsis. She attended master classes
of Dmitrij Baskirov, Andrea Bonatta, Anton Kuerti etc. She spent a half year
at the Banff Centre for the Arts (Canada) as an artist in residence.
She gave several concerts in Hungary, Europe, Canada and in the USA. She
played with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, the Solti Chamber Orchestra,
the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the Duna Symhpony Orchestra. In 2003 she
won the prestigious ’Annie Fischer Scholarship for Young Concert Artists’.
Currently she’s following her studies at the Liszt Academy’s DLA
program.
