Ilija Marinkovic - (Austria)
Ilija Marinkovic was born on the first of Jully1980 in Belgrade giving his
first concert with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of seven.
At nine, he moved to Vienna, where he attended the “Hochschule fur Musik
und darstellende Kunst” with professor M.Frischenschlager. Following
aswell the advise of V.Spivakov. At eleven, the Lord Mayor of Vienna, Mr Helmut
Zilk, granted him Austrian Nationality. He has been awarded top prizes at
International Competitions and Awards since the age of twelve: “The
Mozart Award”(Geneva, 1992), “Gradus ad Parnasum”(Graz,
1997),”Viotti-Valsesia” (2001), “Fritz Kreisler” (Vienna,
2000), Pablo Sarasate (Pamplona, 2001) where he also won the Special Audience
Award, “Oestig Prize”(Austria 2002) for the best annual performance
of modern music, likewise he was the winner of the International final of
the popular TV Contest ”Bravo, bravissimo” (Milan,1992). He was
also awarded by UNESCO “Young Artist for Peace” at the age of
seventeen and “Ambassador of Music” in Japan.
Ilija has been performing as a soloist and chamber musician since his age
of ten all around Europe, Japan, Korea, USA and Canada in major venues such
as Santori Hall, Grand Osaka Hall, Musikverein & Konzerthaus of Vienna,
Salle Pleyel & Opera of Paris, Düsseldorf Opera, Lincoln Centre in
New York, Grand Hall P.I.Tchaikowsky in Moskau, Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Parma,
Big Hall of the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Torino, Teatro Olimpico in
Rome, Vatican of Rome among many others. He has played with most major orchestras
in Italy, Austria, Japan, Russia, Bulgaria & Serbia and has shared concert
platform with such artists as Montserrat Caballé, Grace Bumbry, Ivry
Gitlis, Gill Shaham, Zubin Mehta, Mikhail Pletnov among others. Important
highlights in his career include the performance of Beethoven’s Triple
Concerto with Moskau Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta
in the hall of the United Nations in Paris, concert for the Pope in Rome,
the New Years concert in the cathedral of Assisi broadcasted by RAI television,
his debut in the Grand Hall P.I.Tchaikowsky in Moscau performing the Tchaikowsky
violin concerto with the Russian National Orchestra where his interpretation
was acclaimed by the critics as one of the best performances ever given in
this hall.
Ilija has live-recorded the Brahms violin concerto with the Radio Orchestra
of Vienna, he has recorded the music for “On Track of Sounds”.
